Mostly Autumn - Pink Floyd Revisited

Buen tributo a los legendarios Pink Floyd por parte de los británicos Mostly Autumn, una de las bandas más influenciadas por el sonido de Pink Floyd. Es realmente destacable la calidad interpretativa de éstos músicos contemporáneos (al menos en este trabajo), y esto se nota sobre todo en temas como Echoes y Sheep. Los riffs y solos de guitarra de Bryan Josh son similares y de la calidad de los de David Gilmour y en el aspecto vocal, Heather Findlay hace un excelente trabajo, dándole un giro distinto a los temas y con un estilo más propio. El listado de temas es completamente digno de un tributo de esta naturaleza ya que abarca varias de las canciones más importantes de Pink Floyd. Un disco para disfrutar.

Pink Floyd se reúnen en un concierto y además publicarán gran cantidad de material inédito

Entre los sueños de un fan relativamente joven de Pink Floyd está el de verlos juntos alguna vez. Aunque eso ya jamás será posible (Syd Barret, Richard Wright), sí nos podríamos contentar con ver al menos a Roger Waters, David Gilmour y Nick Mason juntos tocando algún tema de la banda británica. Seis años han pasado desde el Live 8, donde aún vivía Richard Wright, y en el que acabaron abrazados tras interpretar cuatro temas (Speak to me/Breathe, Money, Wish You Were Here y Comfortably Numb). Seis años donde se ha dicho de todo y se han dicho de todo, donde se ha especulado sobre la vuelta de la banda -al menos hasta la muerte de Wright-, y donde Roger Waters ha realizado una gira llevando The Wall por todo el mundo con un gran espectáculo visual y sonoro.
Tras todo este tiempo, Waters ha logrado aunar a Gilmour y a Mason en el O2 Arena de Londres, consiguiendo la segunda “reunión” de la banda en los últimos 30 años. Aunque ya sabíamos de antemano que Gilmour aparecería en algún show, no sabíamos cuándo sería exactamente, y desde luego lo que desconocíamos es que Mason también estaría por allí. Waters dice que ha sido una gran coincidencia, pero quién sabe si todo esto ha tenido un gran motivo en la noticia que nos llegaba esta semana con la próxima publicación de una cantidad ingente de material del grupo. Y no exageramos nada con el adjetivo. A partir del 26 de septiembre, publicarán de todo y de todas las formas posibles. Empezando por el principio, verán la luz dos versiones de The Dark Side Of The Moon, una de 6 discos (Immersion box set) y otra de 2 discos (Experience), además de 14 álbumes de estudio conveniente y digitalmente remasterizados. En la llamada fase dos, el 7 de noviembre, saldrá la Immersion de Wish You Were Here, que contará con 5 discos, y la respectiva Experience de dos. Incluyen material de directos de 1974, e incluso una versión inédita de Wish You Were Here con Stephane Grappelli. Habrá tiempo además para sacar otro recopilatorio: A Foot In The Door. La última tandada de lanzamientos será el 27 de febrero del año próximo, con la Immersion y la Experience de The Wall, cómo no. La locura.
Solo espero que no haya sido por la conveniencia, que podamos verlos alguna vez más, y que aunque esto solo sirva para que os pongáis a escuchar esa masterpiece que es The Dark Side Of The Moon, haya merecido la pena.
