El próximo 29 de Noviembre Pink Floyd publica ‘Pink Floyd The Later Years’, una caja con 16 discos (5 CDs, 6 Blu-Rays, 5 DVDs, 2 singles 7” y un libro con fotos exclusivas, además de recuerdos de las ultimas giras) que muestra material creado por David Gilmour, Nick Mason y Richard Wright desde 1987. Durante esa época Pink Floyd publicó 3 álbumes de studio: ‘A Momentary Lapse of Reason’, ‘The Division Bell’ y ‘The Endless River’ y dos en directo: ‘Delicate Sound of Thunder’ y ‘Pulse’, de los que han vendido más de 40 millones de copias. The Endless River

He vivido como un yonki contrito esperando su dosis de metadona desde el anuncio antes del verano del disco del año o por lo menos el mas deseado. Por fin en mis manos he esperado el calenton del momento de la primera escucha, he alejado de mi los fantasmas del sonido Floyd setentero y por su puesto he obviado a esos eunucos melomanos fracasados llamados críticos.
Pretender que lo ultimo sea siempre lo mejor es como pretender aguantar una noche de borrachera con 60 años mejor que con 20, cada etapa tiene cosas buenas y menos buenas. El disco no es ni de lejos el mejor de Pink Floyd, pero a caso lo fue el descafeinado The Final Cut de la etapa Waters, con el cual pretendía enterrar la ingeniería ciclopea Floyd? recordemos que Waters se encargo de la decapitación musical de Wright y sustituyo los teclados del idem por una orquesta dirigida por el gran pero innecesario Michael Kamen, pero eran otros tiempos!!! años en los que al encender la radio escuchabas música, por eso mis oxidados oídos acostumbrados a escuchar vómitos de perro al encender la caja esa que llevo en el frontal de mi Ford, le dan la bienvenida a The Endless River. 
No voy a diseccionar el disco como un alienado forense con ganas de puntuar de 0 a 10 a DIOS. Simplemente decir lo que en un principio dijo Gilmour, que es un disco homenaje a Richard Wright y como tal merece todos los respetos, disco en el cual se funden melodías que perfectamente encajarían en Animals o WYWH, con temas que podrían tener cabida en el disco "Spiral" de Vangelis y por su puesto el toque de David Gilmour es fundamental con el único tema en el que pone voz y que esta compuesto por la novelista y esposa del guitarrista Polly Samson, en el que mezcla teclados muy al estilo The Great Gig in the Sky con melodías propias de Division Bell. 
Alguien se atrevería a puntuar un cuadro de Dalí????? 
Yo tampoco lo haría con un disco de Pink Floyd!!!!!!!!!!!

"Louder than Words"... y el álbum The Endless River va a ser lo último de Pink Floyd.

A un mes del lanzamiento de su nuevo material, la banda Pink Floyd anunció que el disco The Endless River será el último de su carrera.

Nick Mason y David Gilmour, en entrevista con BBC 6 Music, se refirieron al nuevo material, que sale a la luz en noviembre y a 20 años de su último álbum. Fue ahí donde ambos miembros del grupo aseguraron que no habrá más música tras este disco. "Esto es lo último que saldrá de nosotros", dijo Gilmour, según reprodujo NME.

"Es una pena, pero este es el final", agregó, aunque exista material inédito grabado junto al fallecido cofundador de la banda, Rick Wright, pero para un disco en solitario. "No es un disco de Pink Floyd", aclaró. 

Recientemente fue confirmada la participación del científico Stephen Hawking en este último disco de la banda, apareciendo en el tema Talkin' Hawkin. 


Louder than Words tiene los pianos de The Great Gig In The Sky, la estructura de Hey You y tiene mucho de Poles Apart del Division Bell.

Por fin tenemos fecha, el 10 de Noviembre vera la luz el inesperado álbum de Pink Floyd The Endless River.
El álbum – que en primera instancia tenía fecha de publicación para octubre de este año – estará compuesto de 18 temas (principalmente instrumentales) divididos en cuatro partes y saldrá a la venta en CD, vinilo y edición de lujo, ésta última incluirá versiones del disco en audio de alta definición.
En cuanto al registro, Pink Floyd informó a través de su web oficial que se trata de canciones que tienen su punto de partida en el año 1993, durante “las sesiones de Division Bell, cuando David Gilmore, Rick Wright y Nick Mason tocaron juntos en los estudios Britannia Row y Astoria”.
Junto con confirmar la fecha oficial de la publicación de The Endless Rivers, Pink Floyd dio a conocer el tracklist, un adelanto de 30 segundos del primer tema del disco y la portada del álbum, la que fue diseñada por el artista egipcio de 18 años, Ahmed Emad Edin, convirtiéndose en la segunda carátula de la banda que no fue creada por Storm Thorgerson, artista fallecido en abril de 2013. Según comentaron los músicos, “The Endless River es un homenaje a Rick Wright, cuyos teclados son el corazón del sonido de Pink Floyd”, refiriéndose al músico que murió en 2008. “The Endless River es un homenaje a Rick (…) escuchar de nuevo las sesiones hizo que fuera realmente evidente para mí lo buen músico que era”, aseguró el baterista Nick Mason.

Pink Floyd EndlessThe Endless River has as its starting point the music that came from the 1993 Division Bell sessions, when David Gilmour, Rick Wright and Nick Mason played freely together at Britannia Row and Astoria studios.  This was the first time they had done so since the ‘Wish You Were Here’ sessions in the seventies.  Those sessions resulted in The Division Bell, the band’s last studio album.

In 2013 David Gilmour and Nick Mason revisited the music from those sessions and decided that the tracks should be made available as part of the Pink Floyd repertoire.  It would be the last time the three of them would be heard together.  The band have spent the last year recording and upgrading the music,using the advantages of modern studio technology to create The Endless River.

The Endless River is a tribute to Rick Wright, whose keyboards are at the heart of the Pink Floyd sound. It is a mainly instrumental album with one song, ‘Louder Than Words’, (with new lyrics by Polly Samson), arranged across four sides and produced by David Gilmour, Phil Manzanera, Youth and
Andy Jackson.

Echoes: The Best of Pink Floyd

Echoes: The Best of Pink Floyd es un álbum recopilatorio de Pink Floyd. Fue publicado el 5 de noviembre de 2001 en el Reino Unido y un día después en Estados Unidos. El 24 de noviembre de ese año ocupó el número 2 del Billboard 200 con 214.650 copias vendidas (el número 1 en Estados Unidos lo mantuvo Britney Spears con su álbum Britney, aunque desplazó el álbum de Michael Jackson Invincible a la tercera posición). El disco se mantuvo en lista 26 semanas, obteniendo el disco de Oro, Platino y Doble Platino de la RIAA el 8 de enero de 2002.
Echoes es el primer álbum en formato Compact Disc que incluye el tema "When the Tigers Broke Free", incluido en la película The Wall (apareció más tarde en 2004 con la reedición de The Final Cut con una mezcla diferente).

El recopilatorio recorre la carrera de Pink Floyd desde su primer single "Arnold Layne", de 1967, hasta "High Hopes", la canción que cierra su último disco de estudio, The Division Bell, editado en 1994. Las veintiséis canciones, remasterizadas para la edición y no ordenadas cronológicamente, se funden con el tema siguiente en el disco, de manera que no se existen espaciados entre canciones (aparte del cambio de disco después de la canción trece), este efecto es obra del productor e ingeniero James Guthrie.

El álbum ha sido criticado por algunos fans de Pink Floyd por falta de material de los discos Music from the Film More, Ummagumma, Atom Heart Mother y Obscured by Clouds, además de por las versiones recortadas de "Echoes", "Marooned", "Shine On You Crazy Diamond", "Sheep" y "High Hopes" incluidas en el disco.

El diseño gráfico del disco es un collage de imágenes clásicas de Pink Floyd, incluyendo fragmentos de vídeos musicales y portadas de discos o sencillos. En la portada encontramos, entre otras cosas, el hombre de negocios de Wish You Were Here, el lago de The Rower (usado en las proyecciones de las giras de 1987, 1988 y 1989), un cerdo de porcelana y una vaca, procedientes de los álbumes Animals y Atom Heart Mother respectivamente, las cabezas de The Division Bell, un avión en referencia a "Learning To Fly", los martillos de "The Wall" o la oreja bajo el agua de Meddle.
